Civil Defence Community Emergency Hub
The Barfoot & Thompson Stadium is registered as a Community Emergency Hub within the Orakei Local Board Area. We have been providing this service and role for over three decades and stand ready to support our community in the event of a civil emergency. Our role as a hub is supported by the Orakei Community Emergency Response Group (OCERG), which is a community led group of organisations and representatives from the Orakei Local Board, amongst others. There are other groups that also support our role as a hub, these include Auckland East Community Network and Eastern Bays Community Patrol. We work in conjunction with official agencies such as Auckland Emergency Management, The New Zealand Police and Fire and Emergency Services New Zealand.

Depending on the emergency, you may not always have access to mobile phones and power may be out limiting your access to TV or other devices you use for getting news. If you must evacuate home, then knowing where your nearest Emergency Hub is important. |
