Public Transport
We are conveniently located between Glen Innes Train Station and Orakei Train Station. There are also several buses that stop by the Stadium. Visit at.govt to plan your journey to us.
Event Day Parking
When driving to the Barfoot & Thompson Stadium, you may find parking spaces across the front and back of the Stadium.
If you see parking attendees upon your arrival, please follow their instructions and carefully read any signage that has been laid out. Our parking attendees will also notify you if a parking fee applies. Pricing for parking is dependent on the event organiser - any information regarding parking fees may be found through our website or social media platforms closer to the event date.
If there are no parking attendants upon your arrival, please park in any parking space that is not coned off or has yellow lines.
Tips About Event Parking:
There are a limited number of parking spaces, so please ensure you arrive early to your event to secure a parking space.
Contact your event organiser if you need a specially reserved parking space.
Under no circumstances are you permitted to:
Park in reserved spaces or on yellow lines
Park on pavements or try to make your own parking space
Doing so will put your vehicle at risk of being towed!
Non-Event Parking
Throughout the week, the Stadium carpark is available to any member of the public using our facilities or attending programmes.
We will often have parking spaces reserved for other ongoing programmes.
These programmes may be but are not restricted to:
Please do not try to park in these reserved spaces, as you will put your vehicle at risk of being towed!
Mobility Assistance
The Stadium reserves a limited number of spaces for disability parking. You will find these spaces by the front entrance of the Stadium. These also operate under a first-come-first-served basis so please utilise the drop-off bay by the entrance if all disabled spaces are taken. Please ensure that you have your mobility parking permit on display inside your vehicle. If you would like to reserve a space, please get in touch with your event organiser.
Mobility Access Some events require attendees to be seated in our Gallery Seating. The Stadium does not have a lift, so to access our upper level we advise:
Going up the wooden ramp located just parallel to our Mobility parking spaces.
Once at the top, go straight in the direction of the second ramp that leads directly into our building entrance for access to our upper level.
Street Parking
You will often find that parking spaces will fill up quickly on busy event days. In this case, you will have to find street parking. Please refer to the map to find nearby roads where you can park on.
Fortunately, the Stadium is nestled in the suburbs encompassed by many roads that are just a short walk away and free of charge to park!
Drop-Off Bay
We have a designated drop-off bay by the Stadium entrance if you wish to drop-off / pick-up passengers or equipment.
This area is a straight drive from the Gate 1 entrance, with yellow road markings saying "No Parking".
Please note that this is NOT the drop-off site for the Book Fair. For any donation drop-offs, please refer to our GABBS page.
